Paper 1 (Introductory Topics in Psychology): Monday 18th May in the morning
Paper 2 (Psychology in Context): Monday 25th May in the morning
Paper 3 (Issues and Options in Psychology): Wednesday 9th June in the morning
About the A Level Psychology Exam Dates
These A Level Psychology Exam Dates have been set and finalised by the exam board and the regulator Ofqual. It’s worth noting that all three Psychology papers fall in the morning, meaning you’ll need to be sharp and focused early in the day for each sitting. Papers 1 and 2 both fall before half term, so you’ll need to have the majority of your revision done before the half term break arrives.
One thing to consider when revising for A Level Psychology is the importance of using the correct terminology. AQA examiners reward precise use of psychological terms, and vague or everyday language will cost you marks even when your understanding is sound. Build your key term vocabulary early and use it consistently in practice answers.
Making the most of revision time
With A Level Psychology Papers 1 and 2 arriving before half term, your revision timetable needs to account for a busy run into the exam season. We would recommend your first action being to create a revision timetable, using an app such as Adapt. These revision timetables mean you can plan out exactly when you will revise for each of your subjects. The best method to follow is to prepare for the hardest or your least favourite topics first, and then work towards your more favourable topics towards the exam.
One thing that many of the Study Dog team were guilty of during their revision time was taking lots of time preparing a revision timetable, only to not follow it when revision time came. Make sure you don’t fall into this trap!
