We’re really excited to announce some new features for the Study Dog platform. It’s been a long (and hot) summer holiday, and now that Results Day for GCSEs and A Levels is out of the way, many students’ eyes are on the 2026/27 academic year beginning in September.
We’ve been working on some great new features that aim to make unlocking your A* potential even easier. These features are included in all of our memberships, so you can access them straight away by logging into Study Dog.
StudyBot: your AI tutor
Artificial Intelligence is taking the world by storm, but knowing how to use it is a vital skill that young people need to know. Students shouldn’t be putting essay titles into ChatGPT and getting vague, untailored responses to submit to class teachers. Continually using chatbots can also increase your reliance on them, putting your critical thinking and analytical skills at risk by not exercising your brain.
This is why we wanted to create an AI tutor that genuinely builds into the A Level learning process. StudyBot does just that. Instead of giving you the answers to your questions, StudyBot guides you through a question by asking you follow up questions. It only covers the content that is on the Study Dog platform, so it doesn’t sway off topic. It’s also designed to build your confidence by allowing you to find the answers to a question, much like a coach or tutor would.
For teachers: your students’ queries to StudyBot are kept anonymous. All data is processed in line with our Privacy Policy, and we have tailored it so that all answers are strictly kept to the content of the lesson that students are querying.
You can use StudyBot right now, by going into a lesson and clicking the ‘Ask StudyBot’ button in the bottom-right corner. Remember to leave us feedback, as we continue to explore other ways that StudyBot can help you with your studies.
Simulators: immerse yourself in your learning
For many students, understanding the importance of a case study or a lesson can feel alien, particularly if you’re new to a subject. For others, they want to understand why some of the decisions that are made actually matter in the real world. And some students just want to enjoy the learning and revision process.
Simulators are our one of our new features that put you in the driving seat of your learning. Imagine you’re a Prime Minister who’s just won an election, but hasn’t quite reached a majority. Our Government Formation simulator lets you build your coalition or minority government, and evaluate its potential stability. For Economics students, you can put yourself into the Chancellor’s Seat, and set the budget based off key financial metrics.
These Simulators are a fantastic class activity, and can really help to build the contextual and background knowledge that students need when taking theories and examples into exams. We’ve already made 36 simulators that cover all 6 subjects.
Psychology Resources
Alongside these excellent new features, we’ve also released our full A Level Psychology resources, tailored to the brand new AQA specification. Written by our Psychology expert Kiera, who graduated with a BSc in Psychology in 2025, they are the perfect companion to any A Level Psychology student.
From detailed course notes to audio notes and practice papers, we cover all of the optional units in AQA A Level Psychology in the formats that you like to revise with. They’re also already embedded with StudyBot and our Simulators, so you can enhance your learning right away.
