About the A Level Geography Exam Dates
These A Level Geography Exam Dates have been set and finalised by the exam boards and the exams regulator Ofqual. It’s important to note that both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are before half term. This means that for AQA students, your Geography exams are over very soon into the exam season. For Edexcel and OCR students, you only need to revise Paper 3 content over the half term break.
Remember that once the A Level Geography Exam Dates come around, you will already have submitted your non-examined assessment, which should give you some reassurance that you have already achieved a good proportion of your overall grade for A Level Geography. You also need to take extra care to revise over case studies of important geographical events. Case Studies play an important role in your A Level Geography essays, and having a bank of accessible case studies is vital to your revision. They should be embedded within your revision strategy.
Making the most of revision time
This year the A Level Geography Exam Dates have been set earlier in the exam series, meaning you need to prepare for them in advance of the exam season. We would recommend your first action being to create a revision timetable, using an app such as Adapt. These revision timetables mean you can plan out exactly when you will revise for each of your subjects. The best method to follow is to prepare for the hardest or your least favourite topics first, and then work towards your more favourable topics towards the exam.
One thing that many of the Study Dog team were guilty of during their revision time was taking plenty of time preparing a revision timetable, only to not follow it when revision time came. Make sure you don’t fall into this trap, and get started as soon as you can, sticking to your timetable.
More Resources
The first place to go is the exam board websites to check out the exam dates for your other subjects. The AQA exam timetable is here, and here is the Edexcel exam timetable. This will allow you to see when your remaining exams are and check for any potential clashes or heavy days to prepare for.
You should also check out the Study Dog Geography Revision Tools, which include key word portfolios to ensure you have a strong knowledge of core concepts within the course. We also have revision checklists, which break down the entire course into manageable chunks for you to revise with.
