About Study Dog
We're here to help students thrive.
Founded in 2020 by Leo Carr, we are here to help A Level students by creating an online learning platform with engagement and student experience at its heart.
Study Dog is your studying companion.
Our Aims
Study Dog was built on a simple idea: quality revision resources shouldn’t cost a fortune, and that studying the humanities should feel just as engaging as any other subject. Everything we do serves three objectives:
To Educate
Giving you the depth of knowledge to earn the grades you're proud of; the kind of resources Leo wished he'd had revising for his own exams.
To Engage
Learning should hold your attention and build on it. Study Dog is built around engagement first, with resources designed to keep you focused and on target.
To Extend
Building a genuine love of your subjects beyond the exam into further reading, conversation, and the kind of curiosity that lasts past results day.
Leo Carr's Story
Hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you! I’m Leo Carr, founder of Study Dog, and I’d love to share why I built it.
It started at my own sixth form. Revising for my A Levels, I ran into a problem: there was hardly anything decent written for Politics, or the humanities in general, and what did exist was expensive. So instead of paying over the odds for resources that didn’t quite fit, I decided to build the kind of affordable, high-quality revision tools I wished I’d had: the same ones the tens of thousands of students taking humanities A Levels each year could use too.
That idea followed me to the University of Exeter, where I studied Politics and discovered a real love for teaching and tutoring younger students. Taking up a role teaching Politics, I saw how much the education system needed a tool to help 21st-century students.
Study Dog grew out of that, and today it helps thousands of Economics, Geography, PE, Politics, Psychology and Sociology students around the world unlock their A* potential.
I hope you’ll join us.
